ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
We expect about 550 scientists from more than 35 countries to come to St. Louis to participate in ICAR 2017, organized by the North American Arabidopsis Steering Committee (NAASC). The International Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR) is the largest annual international scientific conference devoted to Arabidopsis thaliana and its translation to applied plant sciences. ICAR 2017 will be in St. Louis, Missouri, a hub for institutions and companies that focus on plant biology and agricultural biotech research and development. The majority of breakthroughs in plant science in the past several decades have relied on development of this reference plant and thousands of researchers around the world use Arabidopsis in their work. The knowledge derived from their research informs nearly all aspects of plant biology. ICAR 2017 will convene outstanding speakers from North America, Europe, and Austral-Asia to present cutting-edge research from innovative studies that inform research in other plants, including crops. There will be numerous opportunities for attendees to present their research in concurrent sessions, community-organized workshops, and poster sessions. ICAR 2017 will provide a unique platform for presenting cutting-edge research from innovative studies performed throughout the world. NEW THIS YEAR The Donald Danforth Plant Sciences Center opens its doors to ICAR attendees for an exclusive open house and will host the official ICAR 2017 conference party. The open house will include opportunities for ICAR 2017 attendees to tour their unique facilities and participate in an exclusive industry session and networking social aimed at connecting relevant industry groups with graduate students, postdocs, and others interested in industry careers and collaborations. |
